Physical Therapy Assistant - Southwest Clinic
The physical therapy assistant organizes and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy to relieve pain, restore function, and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. He/she helps the patient reach his maximum performance and assume a place in society while learning to live within the limits of his capabilities. The physical therapy assistant performs prescribed physical therapy services to patients. The physical therapy assistant may only provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a physical therapist.
Requirements:
The physical therapy assistant must graduate from an accredited school. He/she must be licensed by the state of Texas to practice physical therapy either by a permanent license or temporary license until a permanent license is obtained. He/she must practice within the ethical standards of practice as defined by the American Physical Therapy Association and will comply with all rules and laws governing the practice of physical therapy in the state of Texas.
