Description:

Manage and review all return and work paper preparation for the US, Canada and Puerto Rico federal and state/provincial income and franchise tax compliance; this includes providing guidance around the interpretation of all applicable tax code and regulations, understanding financial accounting treatment and determining tax adjustments, presenting relevant information on tax returns correctly, etc.

Manage and review comprehensive tax memorandums to support important tax positions; this includes providing guidance around the impact of law changes on Hilti’s current business, applying existing rules and regulations to changes in Hilti’s business, etc
Support due diligence efforts and related valuation support initiatives, and coordinate the integration of tax planning initiatives into tax accounting and tax compliance reporting.

Collaborate with outside consultants for guidance on compliance and planning issues.

Manage and review the interim and annual deferred tax calculations for all Hilti companies in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, coordinating corporate Finance to report the results to Hilti Global, and reviewing the deferred tax calculations with external auditors.

Review the income and franchise tax accounts by performing monthly tax account analyses and communicate any required tax account adjustments to corporate Finance
.

Manage and review estimated taxable income for the current year and all US, Canada and Puerto Rico federal and state/provincial income
tax estimated payments and extensions.

Provide guidance to Sr. Tax Analyst to resolve notices and prepare data requests for income tax audits with the objective of reducing tax liabilities to the legal minimum, thereby maximizing profits.

Manage and review employee benefit related compliance filings.

Develop and maintain sound business relationships with Hilti personnel, customers, tax auditors, and other members of the tax business
community.

Minimum Required:
·       Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
·       Master’s Degree in Tax or MBA preferred
·       CPA / active CPA Candidacy required
·   Extensive knowledge of US, Canadian and Puerto Rico federal, state/provincial and international income tax
·       Demonstrated strong leadership skills
·  Demonstrated strong conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to utilize creative and innovative approaches in problem solving
·   Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to detail review large volumes of data
·      Demonstrated ability to work well with others
·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs required
·      Proficiency with SAP preferred
·     Ability to prioritize and multi-task
·     Ability to meet deadlines
·   Ability to work independently and handle confidential material required
